Most people can save up to £100 a year by switching gas and electricity suppliers. A total of 100,000 people are switching electricity supplier every week and a total of 67,000 customers a week are switching gas supplier. The net number of people switching away from British Gas - after taking into account those customers who have left and subsequently returned - is running at 14,000 a week. Similarly, on a net basis, 56,000 people a week are switching away from their regional electricity supplier.
88% of electricity and gas customers who had switched said they found the process easy.
